Core Four

Daniel Norris (P) $5,000  – Normally in this spot I show you guys the top pitcher i’m paying up for but tonight ill let you guys choose and pair them with Norris at 5k. At this price tag, all we need for Norris is about 10-15 DK points and anything better than that is a bonus. Norris has reverse splits as he struggles against left handed batters. The Royals lineup only has 2 in Gordon and O’Hearn who both struggle against left handed pitching. Only 2 Royals have an ISO above .200 (Merrifield who I am scared of and Gutierrez) and the starting lineup has a 25% strikeout rate on the year. Norris allows you to afford elite bats and pitching, as well as provides nice 15-20 DK point upside.

Nelson Cruz (OF) $4,800 – My favorite bat on tonight’s slate, Cruz is an absolute smash spot against lefty Tommy Milone. Milone allows a .232 ISO and 52.8% flyball rate to right handed batters and only a 15% strikeout rate. Cruz matches up perfectly with his 45.5% fly ball rate and an absolutely absurd .424 ISO versus left handed pitching. Cruz should be high owned and for good reason due to his relatively cheap price tag for this matchup tonight.

Miguel Cabrera (1B) $3,600 – Similar to Cruz, Miggy is an excellent spot against a left handed pitcher who he can take advantage of. Miggy’s only power has come against LHP with a .290 ISO including a grand slam against former Cy Young winner Blake Snell. The Tigers have a few bats who can take advantage of left handed pitching and may be a low owned value stack due to their relatively low run total.

Randal Grichuk (OF) $4.200 – Going up against an absolutely terrible pitcher in David Hess (Grichuk is more expensive than Hess on DK) who allows power to both sides of the plate, Grichuk and the Blue Jays are in a great spot for some home run upside. Hess allows an insane .415 ISO to right handed batters and Grichuk is second on the team with a .202 ISO. Grichuk has been getting under the ball lately with a 62% fly ball rate and  Grichuk should look to find the seats tonight against a fly ball pitcher in Hess.
